Amarillo - Fly & Insect Trap
Amarillo is a water based, non toxic, sticky attractant for non beneficial insects both in the greenhouse and outdoors. It is rare to find any beneficial insects stuck to it. Amarillo can be either scraped off along with the insects or coated over, making it a cost effective method of removing unwanted insect life, whether for catching flies around the cow shed and calf pens or catching whitefly in the greenhouse, it is extremely effective in reducing pesky insects.
Duration of activity
Amarillo maintains its insect attraction and stickiness for several months depending on insect activity, and if outdoors, whether there is significant and regular rainfall which may limit the duration of its effectiveness.
Safety Concerns
Amarillo is a water based product and does not contain synthetic solvents or pesticides.
Application
Can be applied to any non-porous surface, i.e. stretch nylon shrink between to pillars.
The height should be in the upper third of the plants and above.
It is recommended that 5% of the area be covered with Amarillo.
Can be sprayed with a pressure sprayer or painted using a brush or roller.
Apply to any non porous surface, easy to repurpose old plastic containers.
Sprayed at 100cc/m2
After spraying, wash the spraying equipment with soap and water.
Depending on how quickly the insects are trapped and the stickiness is reduced, further coats can easily be applied over the existing ones.
