Fantastic Avocado Crop
Avocados grown in the Bay of Plenty utilising products and consultancy from Holistic Farm Solutions and H F Toolbox. This is a large crop of good sized healthy avocados.
This crop turned out to be in the top two for quantity, size and quality per hectare, with the packhouse used.
Tips:
- The use of EM may help to help keep fruit disease free
- Spraying trees throughout the fruiting season with liquid nutrients helps with fruit fill and reduces the likelihood of plant stress
- August/September is a good time for leaf and soil sampling - pre flowering
- Optimising and balancing soil & plant nutrient levels helps relieve pest and disease pressure
- Applying foliar boron pre-flower can help with fruit set.
