Feed Analysis
It is often said that there are three diets fed on farm; the diet formulated, the diet fed and the diet consumed. With feed inputs, diet formulation and feed analysis, we try to get these three as close as possible to each other. A feed analysis provides information on the Feed quality (DM, ME, CP, NDF etc) as well as the mineral makeup (Ca, P, K etc).
In addition, if the feed analysed is a silage, we can gather information on the fermentation process and ultimately the aerobic stability and palatability of the silage, to this end, we analyse the data from the feed analysis to produce a fermentation profile.
Changes made to the diet based of feed evaluation and feed formulation is not a "once off", once the changes have been made, KPI's are monitored to evaluate the effectiveness of the intervention and further changes may or may not then be made at that point.
